Looking Back at zlien in 2016

zlien has changed a lot in the last twelve months! Here are some of the milestones we hit in 2016.

We Raised $5 Million

In March we announced a $5 million funding round led by Altos Ventures. This follows up a $1.3 million funding round led by Brick & Mortar Ventures in 2015.

Over the past few years, zlien has become the industry’s leading lien rights solution, with our platform touching over 300,000 projects annually worth billions of dollars in construction contract value. This funding has allowed us to scale so we can make an even greater impact on the construction industry by making lien rights easy, and empowering a fair construction ecosystem that everyone can trust.

We Doubled Our Team

Owler Named zlien Hot in New Orleans

zlien was named #3 in Owler’s Hot in City awards for New Orleans. These awards are meant to recognize the top trending companies in cities around the world. This year, Owler sifted through over 15 million companies on their platform to find the most award-worthy businesses, and narrowed the list down to 4,500 winners across the 600 most popular cities on Owler.

LookFar Named zlien Notable in #NOLATech

In 2016 in Southern Startups: Stories, Rounds, and What Comes Next, LookFar steps back and takes a look at went on with startups in the South in 2016. zlien was awarded the Notable in #NOLATech along with two other New Orleans based tech startups, Lucid and Propeller.

The article shows some exciting progress made by southern startups including 999 funding deals, $13.5 billion in capital invested, and 113 acquisitions over $50 million.

Our Team Received 2 Ada Lovelace WIT Nominations

zlien is proud that two of our team members – Gretchen Lynn, Director of User Success, and Adele Tiblier, Director of Marketing – received nominations to be Ada Lovelace Woman of the Year in GNO Tech. This award seeks to recognize women who have broken ground as innovators and leaders in the New Orleans tech community, and who have committed enormous personal effort toward inspiring our city’s next generation of women in technology.

We Moved Offices

To accommodate our growing team, we moved from Uptown New Orleans to a fabulous space in the heart of the city’s Garden District. Watch the video below to learn a little more about zlien and get a glimpse of a typical day at the office.
